About Us
A tiny family business from Awahou, Rotorua, New Zealand, that started in October 2009, which started with a dabble, where our resin creations began. All carvings, moulds and designs made by Te Hau and created from home in his shed. Every individual piece is hand designed after moulding and all binding done by whanau. All creations are originals.
Te Hau is a wood carver taught by his father a well known carver, then carried on to be a self taught carver. His many large carving jobs he has been involved in is helping to finish the Wharenui in Plimmerton, Hongoeka Marae. He has dabbled with Greenstone carving and still carves with Whale bone today. He is also a great dabbler with carving Polystyrene, such as water falls, caves and anything else he puts his mind to. He has also had a little dabble with ice sculpturing.
His tribal affiliations take his connections to Te Arawa whanui, Ngati Rangiwewehi, Ngati Whakaue, Tuhourangi, Ngati Pikiao and also Ngati Rangitihi and Whakatohea.
A father of three teenage boys who are fortunate to have a father whose skills in Kapahaka, composer of maori music & carver and user of weaponry & taonga puoro at their finger tips.
So this is another hobby or skill added to Te Hau’s life repertoire.
